QUESTION OF THE DAY

I'm borrowing this idea from tiara's and tantrums because I need some help. The last few months I have either met, opened up to, or just plain become friends with a lot of great people. After getting on the medicine for depression I realized if you invite people to do stuff they usually will! I used to think no one liked me but I realized I wasn't giving anyone the opportunity to get to know me. I have had many girlfriends over for coffee and had a great time. That leads me to my question:

What do you do for fun with your friends? (kid friendly during the day kinda stuff)

Thanks y'all!!

I don't do this as often as I should (I kind of feel like you did before), but today we had a friend & her son over just for some quality mother/son time. We just chatted & watched our boys play (not together because my son kept taking her son's toy but you know) and talked about her schoolwork and our futures and such.

Mostly that's what I do when I get together with friends.

Who has time for fun? Kidding.
I exercise with my girlfriends - either at the track before the little ones are up, or stroller walks with them, or sometimes even an exercise class where we drop the kiddo's off at a playroom. Then we giggle like crazy women watching each other totally look like large lards with no coordination, balance or agility.

HUMMmm my outings and get togethers with friends usually include errands. Grocery shopping, shopping for baby, finding deals with coupons. In my ideal world I would love to go sit down at starbucks and just have coffee. BUT, when my friends that are lucky enough to have them all in school are available, I usually don't have a sitter, and by the time I do, we all have kids at home LOL.

Oh, I also like to get together and do crafts and sewing :-)

Coffee is always good. Or if they have kids also a playdate at the park involving picnicy stuff. Glad you are feeling better and enjoying life!

- coffee dates. Everyone get together brings snacks, we hang out in someone's home and let the kids go all "Lord of the Flys" on the house.

- coffee at McD's.

- walk at the river and chat up a huge storm.

Now that my kids are all in school we go for coffee and chill. Some Fridays we hit Earls and have a big girl lunch!

great question! I'm like you were before - I don't open up to people, so I don't have any new friends - all my old friends (pre-kids/marriage) are all still single or working or sans kids. I take my kids everywhere!
So - I got nothing for ya!

Coffee at McD's is a great idea, cause the kids can go play til they drop and we can just sit and have coffee with the occasional referee needed. Hugs to you, Girlfriend! Thanks again for watching my MONKEYS yesterday!

I'm sorry you've been handling depression. I will say a prayer for you. I think your children are beautiful! I have a friend who is paralyzed from the waist down and has six children (she had her last one in the chair). Just talking to her, crying together, laughing together, is always time well spent. I don't know... just loving people and being gracious enough to receive love.
