Burning questions?????

While Carl is away this time I am going to do some serious de-cluttering. Here is my question, How many clothes do your kids or you have? How many shirts, pairs of pants, pj's etc. I know we have way more clothes than we need. For example I am pretty sure Lunden has at least 30 pairs of pj's. I am just struggling with knowing how much is too much. I have no problem getting rid of stuff but have a tendency to be kinda one extreme or the other. So any help would be greatly appreciated!

When I'm trying to declutter anything I find that the best way to do it is figure out the container you want to keep it in (or say 2 drawers per kid or whatever) and then weed out the stuff that wont fit in the assigned space - with clothes its a bit easier because you can put away or toss was doesn't fit or has stains or holes first. But this works for kitchen stuff, toys, books, dvds, craft supplies, old mementos, etc. I tend to want to keep everything but this really helps. Thats how we went from 6 bookshelves to 2 - we just kept what would fit into 2 and donated the rest.

I agree with Auntie B --- Both my boys have way too many clothes, however it's hard for me because I want to keep all of them just in case we have another boy.

But your post reminded me today that I have had on my "to-do" list to clear out the infant clothes that no longer fit Cole and ones that I don't really like and take them to the kid swap.

I would say Jacob has 4 pairs of PJ's - Cole probably has 12 as he's in sleepers for a better portion of his life as a 3 month old.

Jacob has 10 pairs of pants and probably the same amount of tee-shirts. I keep everything to a minimum (or try to) as the more clothes means more piles of laundry all over the house that don't have a place. However the less clothes means the more daily laundry I have to do to ensure there are clean pj's in the house, but I am willing to sacrifice that so I don't have to constantly deal with extra clothes in the drawers/closet/stairs etc :)
