What would you do?

I am pretty sure my decision is final regarding our plans to move to another province. Not going to say yet whether we are going or staying but I am curious to know, "What would you do?"
I know I haven't given much info but I will say if we were to move the place we would be going I know well and have lots of supportive family really close by. Carl flys out of Edmonton for work(45 minutes from where we would move) so he wouldn't have to take the 16 hour bus ride every two weeks. Downfall, my mom is HERE. My grandma and grandpa are HERE. What's a girl to do...

Sounds like a good place to move - convince your mum and grandies to go too!!

Tough decision! DH and I spent part of our honeymoon in Edmonton, loved that area!!! 16 hours on a bus, wow, that is a long time on a bus!! Loved your blog, the title is awesome! We get asked that all the time with our brood of 5, 5 and under, lol!

Hi! I would move - we did for my hubby's work (meant he didn't have to contract away) even though we left all of our family & I would do it again to have Dave home each night. It is hard though in the adjustment time, but at least you have some family near there! BTW what a great blog - I also get asked are they all yours? & I only have 4 (in <4 years)!

Since you are asking what I would do...I would tell myself "I'm moving to Alberta for a year to see if I like it" Then I'd move for a year and decide whether or not to stay. Don't forget, you can ALWAYS move back if you hate it. Or move here, either way. ;)

Being that for the last 11 years I have lived away from family, I would stay. That is JMO. On the other hand.....since we have not really had much info, it's almost imposible to base a decision on just that one thing......

Well, I don't know what I'd do, but I do know that I don't want you to move. Only for selfish reasons, like I would miss you too much. But if moving to Edmonton, or where ever, makes you happy in the long run, then I think you should.

Jenn- I know how hard this might be for you! Moving is a big decision and having to commute is a pain in the ass! I haven't been by my mom my whole adult married life but now I want to soooooo bad! I want to get my husband a job up her in Vancouver, Wa were she is. Just think with your head but use your heart to guide you. Not much help they eh?!

I am slightly biased because I live in Edmonton but I also live away from my family...ALL OF THEM! Honestly it's hard, especially for holidays but I've lived through it for 9 or 10 years now. (wow, has it been that long?!) I miss my family more now with having kids and the support they'd bring BUT you did mention you'd have a lot of family really close by, not your mom of course but you'd still have support and that's important.
Wouldn't you and the kids get more time with Carl then if he didn't have to do that bus ride so often? That is one huge "pro" isn't it?

Make a "pros" and "cons" list - that's what I always do.

Good luck with your decision! By the way, where are you looking to move to? 45 min from Edmonton could be many places... :-)

Oh,one more thing, if you are going to move...move soon while we have nice weather and you fall in love with the place first!! The winters are BRUTAL!!!!!!!! :-)

I would move! Actually, we are hoping to move soon too and it will be away from everyone. (UGH!) But, you do what you need to, don't you?

You've got to be together with Carl! You're family can keep up with your daily activites via the blog and lots of visits both directions!

Really tough, and personal decision to make. I would go, simply because I would want to spend more time with my family, and my husband. I would miss my parents, and my grandparents But, I do not see them that much.

And, I would like the adventure of moving to a new place...

Good luck with your decision! I envy that thought of picking up and leaving and moving somewhere new!

We talk about that a lot!

We moved for my husbands job and our closest relatives are 13 hours away. It really stinks to be so far from family but makes visiting them all the more sweeter.
Keep up your clever blogging and the relatives will still know whats going on with the kiddos.
Plus you get more time with your man!
Good luck with your choice. I agree with Jill - Follow your heart.

Gosh...that is a tough call. For your husband I say yes...

But moving away from mom... gosh. I'm not so sure I could do it so I don't think I'm much help at alll!!
