SUNDAY SOUND OUT!

A big thank you to Debi, cindy, auntie bari, cassandra-ann, susan, christie, Cathy, and my sister Theresa for playing along. You are all now officially my favorite readers :)

Q: What do you love most about having the kids all so close in age?

A: I love how easy it is to find something they all want to do. Since they are all pretty much the same age they really have very similar interests. I also love that as teenagers they will have each other just in case mom's not good enough ;)

Q: What is your favorite time of day? (and, no fair saying bedtime)
A: LOL!! I would say bedtime is my least favorite time of day, too much whining and carrying on...Favorite would have to be those rare occasions I get up before the kids and have coffee out on the deck. Pure bliss...

Q: more info on the move?
A: I'm going to do a whole post tomorrow on the move.

Q: Why are you so pretty?

My momma and daddy! My sister as a baby not me, I was the youngest so pretty rare to find a picture of me ;)

Q: If you could have a life 'do over' is there anything you'd change?
A: Difficult question. In a word YES! I'm happy with what I have but often wish I had had time to be a grown up before having kids. I was 19 when I had Xavier so went from teen to mom instantly. I sometimes daydream about what it would be like to get married, travel, have a career, and then settle down and have babies.

Q: When was the last time you and hubby did something together... No kids (in a G rated way lol)
A: :( Since Carl works out of town for at least 2 weeks a month(3 sometimes) there is definitely a lack of mommy and daddy time. I did drive him around on a quad when we were in Alberta. It was a beautiful sunny day and we drove across the prairies while the kids were with their cousins. We found a really nice secluded area and.......

Q: Whats the best thing about having a big family?
A: I'm never alone

Q: Whats the worst thing?
A: I'm never alone

Q: Do strangers ever make comments on how many kids you have?
A: Every day for the last 2 years at least!! My favorite is, "Are they all yours, even the blonde one?" Come on now people, how to give her a complex!!

Q: Whats the last thing you did for yourself?
A: Went for a run this afternoon, with all the kids, does that count?

Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: Here's a little known fact about me, I have very little memory of my childhood. I can't for the life of me remember what I wanted to be! Luck for me I have a human scrapbook for sister so we'll have to ask her!

Q: Do you have picky eaters and what do you do about it?
A: Some days my kids are ridiculously picky but for the most part really good.
I make them try things they don't like on a regular basis and for the most part they eventually give in and like it! We also do a lot of covering dinners and putting them in the fridge so when the kid who didn't eat their dinner asks for a snack we can get their dinner back out. I know sounds mean but it really works. I also try to not put too much on their plate. It seems to help them eat the stuff they don`t really care for if it`s not too overwhelming.

Q: How do you deal with toys? You've got to have a bunch of them. Is there some way that you keep them
organized or at the end of the day, does it just look like your house exploded?
My triplets will turn 2 on the 20th and my house usually looks trashed. I'd love any advice!
A: It took 5 kids for us to realize the only way to keep the toys under control was to have a room with a door to put them in. Last year we gave up our master bedroom upstairs so the kid could have a place for all their toys. Not to say it doesn't get messy but it has a door that makes the mess all but go away! Today we cleaned the toy room and packed a lot of the kids toys away for the move (IF). So it's pretty empty now but helps them to appreciate what's left!

Q: Is it normal that my 10-month old seems to have been teething forEVER and there is no sign of any new teeth yet? Also, for how long can she survive on her current preferred diet of frozen red grapes?

A: Having 5 babies who all teethed differently I can confidently say forEVER is a very common amount of time to teeth. I do know the longer it takes the healthier the teeth if that's comforting at all. Who am I kidding, that won't help in the middle of the night! Embrace the tylenol. See if you can convince your pediatrician to give her a portable IV of it for the next year?
Mmmm...frozen grapes! The average 10 month old can survive on frozen grapes alone, for as long as it keeps her happy! :) Or until she starts throwing them on the floor and making that annoyed whining sound!

Q: What is your favourite quote?
A: "It's an oldie but a goodie." -my grandma

Q: What is your dream career if you could chose anything?
A: I would love to be a midwife. Actually I plan on making that dream happen at some point in the next 20 years!

Q: How big or small of a family did you grow up in?
A: I have an older brother and sister who I grew up with. When I was 12 my dad and step mom had a baby (my first baby). So I have 2 sisters and a brother :)

Q: Favourite kid product?
A: My Phil and Ted stroller! I am really impressed with it and it's ability to let me jog with ease while pushing 3 kids!! On Canada day after the firework the kids were too tired to walk back to the van so I arranged them on all parts of the stroller and pushed all 5 of them!!

Q: Your favourite tip?!
A: In order to potty train your child you need to choose a start day and never revert back to diapers. I have quickly and successfully potty trained 4 kids and this has worked every time :)

Oy that made me laugh. If I have my way you'll be a midwife/doula as soon as Calleigh is in Kindergarden! It is seriously your calling and the world cannot wait 20 more years!

ps. I think the blonde one might be mine, I left her one Christmas. Can you ship her back out here when you have a chance. kthxbai!
